Dessie Corsbie Coble


    JULIAN — Dessie Corsbie Coble, 93, of Julian passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family.
    A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Coble’s Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
    The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home and at other times at Mrs. Coble’s home.
    Dessie was a devoted wife and mother who loved to RV with her husband and travel and spend time with her family. She was a faithful lifetime member of Coble’s Lutheran Church and, at her passing, was the oldest member there. She was a master at Chrismon making and enjoyed teaching the technique. She worked at the YWCA in Greensboro before going to work as secretary for Neese’s Sausage, where she retired after 50 years of service.
    She was the daughter of the late David Walter and Rosa Smith Corsbie and was also preceded in death by her husband, Audrey Wayne Coble Sr.; sister, Edith Corsbie Reece; brothers, Sanford Corsbie, Carl Corsbie and Walter Corsbie Jr.; and sonin-law, Justin Dean Troxler.
    Dessie is survived by her four children, Victoria C. Troxler, Audrey Wayne Coble Jr. and wife Glenda, Walter William Coble and fiancée Dianne Joyce, and Corky C. Greeson and husband David; and eight grandchildren, Chris and Sarah Troxler, Bradley and Brittany Coble, Justin and Jason Coble, and Rosa and Audrey Greeson.
    Memorial contributions may be made to Coble’s Lutheran Church, General Fund, 5200 Coble Church Road, Julian, N.C. 27283 or Low’s Lutheran Church, Piano Fund, 2136 N.C. Hwy. 61, Liberty, N.C. 27298 or Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, N.C. 27405.
