Louise Kingsland Sharpe Dodson
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Louise Kingsland Sharpe Dodson, 90, of Twin Lakes Memory Care, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, at 8:45 a.m. following several years declining health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Haldean Sharpe and Wade
E. Dodson, both deceased, and the daughter of Jesse M. Kingsland and Beulah Bennett Kingsland, both deceased. She retired from the N.C. Department of Revenue and was secretary of the Twin Lakes Auxiliary. Louise was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church and faithfully served in many capacities.
Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca Sharpe Pardue and husband David of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; son, Richard “Dicky” Sharpe and wife Debbie of Burlington; five grandchildren, Dave Pardue III and wife Daria of Roswell, Ga., Courtnay Pardue Arpano and husband Matt of Greenwich, Conn., Andy Sharpe of Bothell, Wash., Whitney Sharpe Thomas and husband Mat of New York, N.Y. and Alan Sharpe of Chapel Hill; three greatgrandchildren, Rebecca Arpano, Zella Pardue and Odin Pardue; and three nephews, Bob Bevan, John Gilliam and Jess Gilliam.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen K. Bevan and Hilda K. Gilliam.
The funeral service will be conducted in the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Adam Miller-Stubbendick of Macedonia Lutheran Church with the family receiving friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. At other times, they will be at the residence of the son, 2128 Dorsett Street, Burlington, N.C.
