Donald M. “Blue” McPherson
GRAHAM — Mr. Donald M. “Blue” McPherson, 84, of N.C. 87 South, Graham, died on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Hospice Home in Burlington.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Hilda Thomas McPherson, who survives, and the son of Finley Ralph McPherson and Flora Allen McPherson, both deceased. He was a heavy equipment operator and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr. McPherson was a member of Mount Hermon United Methodist Church where he was a Trustee, coffee maker, and was also a member of the Methodist Men, Golden Nuggets, and the Men’s Sunday School Class.
In addition to his wife, of the home, survivors include a brother, Raymond McPherson and wife Clo Dean of Burlington. He was predeceased by his first wife, Sarah Dean McPherson; one sister, Linda McPherson; and one brother, Norman McPherson.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham. The Revs. Tom Miller and Jimmy Wooten will be officiating. Burial will follow at Graham Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Feb. 3 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Rich and Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham and at other times will be at the residence.
