Nannie Graham Keck dies at 103
   BURLINGTON — Nannie Graham Keck, 103, died August 11, 2011 at home.

   In addition to taking care of her family, Nannie was known for her church and community leadership and service to others. She served Union Ridge Church in many capacities during her 91 years of membership. She was ordained as the church’s first female Deacon, and selected Mother of the Year. At the time of her death, she was the oldest member of Union Ridge Church, and the oldest living alumna of Elon University. She graduated from Elon in 1928 and taught school in Alamance County for 25 years. In 1999 she was honored as Alamance County’s Mother of the Year. Nannie was surrounded by friends and family as a wellloved member of the Union Ridge community.

   Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Wilkinson and Helen Aldridge (Phil); son, Graham Keck (Vanessa); grandchildren, Al Wilkinson, Dave Wilkinson (Cathy), Mike Wilkinson (Teresa), Anne Webb (Chris), Lisa Allen (Corey), Blair Keck (Carrie), and Kristy Cannell (Pete). She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Whitney and Merritt Wilkinson, Alana May (Corey), Megan Edwards (Chris), York Wilkinson, Phillip Webb, Cameron and Kasidy Allen, Caroline and Burch Keck; and great-great-grandchildren,

   Neil and Leah Edwards and Russ and Chloe May.

   She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Burch Keck; parents, John A. and Mattie Nelson Graham; four brothers, Carl Graham, Herbert Graham, Allan Graham and John Graham; and two sisters, Nina Patterson and Eva King.

   The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 13 from 5 until 8 p.m. in the Union Ridge Church Fellowship Hall.

   A celebration of her life will be conducted Sunday, August 14 at 3 p.m. at Union Ridge Church by the Rev. Dan Ficklin and the Rev. James Rosser.

   Memorials may be made to the Activities Center Fund of Union Ridge Church or to a charity of choice.

   McClure Funeral Home is assisting the Keck family.
