Mattie “Pat” Byrd
 
 YANCEYVILLE — Mrs. Mattie “Pat” Byrd, 92, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at 9:50 p.m. A native of Caswell County, she was the wife of the late Boyd Bryant Byrd Sr. and the daughter of James Lundy Oakley and Viola Kimbro Oakley, both deceased. She attended Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church.
 
 Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Kelley and husband Mike of Mebane; two sons, Donald Byrd and wife Cathy of Burlington and Boyd Byrd Jr. of Graham; daughter-in-law, Susan Perdue of Yanceyville; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Mansfield and husband Lloyd of Burlington; and two brothers, J. L. “Jake” Oakley and wife Helen of Burlington and Gene Oakley and wife Joyce of Yanceyville.
 
 She was preceded in death by three sons, Eddie Byrd, Kenneth Byrd and Neal Byrd; daughter, Peggy Cornell; grandson, William Byrd; three brothers, Clyde Oakley, Tom Oakley and Hubert Oakley; son-inlaw, Tommy Cornell; and daughter-in-law, Michelle Byrd.
 
 The funeral service will be conducted at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at 3 p.m.by Elder David Underwood. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
 
 The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church. The family will also greet friends at her home on Friday, April 29, 2016, after 3 p.m.
 
 Memorials may be made to Bush Arbor Cemetery Fund, c/o Susan Newcomb, 909 Oakview Loop Road, Yanceyville, NC 27379 or to Caswell County Meals-on- Wheels.
 
 The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers, Angie Hall, Vanessa Whitman and Kristine Rice for the care and compassion given to “Pat”.
