Samuel Luke "Lou" Greeson   |   Visit Guest Book


WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Dr. Samuel "Lou" Luke Greeson, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 10, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. He was a native of Alamance County and the husband of 61 years to Lillian Gossage Greeson who survives.
Dr. Lou Greeson is a retired Baptist minister serving for over 54 years. He was a licensed Chiropractor graduating from Lincoln Chiropractic College. He was a member of Delta Tau Alpha Honor Fraternity while at Lincoln Chiropractic College. Dr. Greeson was a member of the NC Chiropractic Association. He attended Wake Forest University and Piedmont Bible College both located in Winston Salem. He was ordained at Glen Hope Baptist Church in September 1951. Dr. Greeson was selected and honored member of the American Registry of Who's Who in the 2007-2008 edition.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Gossage Greeson of the home; daughters, Linda (Lomax) Skinner of Landshut, Germany, Lurea (Bill) Slaughter of Clemmons, Lynette Greeson of the home, Lisa (Greg) Shelton of Pfafftown; son, Lee (Pat) Greeson of Hopewell, Virginia; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, sister, Frances Gatton of Statesville and a brother, Jesse Greeson of Eden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lacy Anthony Greeson and Daisy Catherine Loy Greeson Kimrey and his step father, Gurney Kimrey and five brothers.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church in Lewisville by Dr. Bud Owen and the Rev. Egbert Craven and the family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the services at the church. A graveside service will be held Monday, Nov. 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. by Dr. Tommy Willis at Alamance Memorial Park with a visitation from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory prior to the graveside service.
