Mary Ruth Green Keeter, 91, of Roanoke Rapids, died Sept. 9, 2010.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, at Antioch Baptist Church in Heathsville, N.C.

Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids, N.C.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11 at Askew Funeral and Cremation Service in Roanoke Rapids. At other times, they will be at Mrs. Keeter's home, 1601 Chase Circle, Roanoke Rapids. 3, Mary Ruth Green Keeter

Mary Ruth Green Keeter, 91, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on September 9, 2010 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.
Born February 24, 1919 in Halifax County, Mrs. Keeter was the daughter of the late Early Richard Green and Della Elizabeth Cook Green.
She was married to the late Sam F. Keeter and had three sisters, Alice G. Smith, Elaine G. Hux, and Eunice G. Meads, all who preceded her in death.
She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, near Heathsville, NC. She retired from J.P. Stevens, and after retirement enjoyed selling vegetables at the farmers market.

Mary Ruth was a caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to a family whom she dearly loved to have around her. "Family was her joy and we will miss her dearly."

She is survived by six children, Ronald Keeter and his wife, Mary, of Littleton, Rachel Hux, Linda Wrenn and her husband, Tommy, Katherine Lee and her husband, Glen, all of Roanoke Rapids, Joan Webster and her husband, Alvis, of Graham, and Tommy Keeter and his wife, Polly, of Roanoke Rapids; fourteen grandchildren: Kaye Cullom and her husband, Keith, Lib Keeter, Ronnie Keeter and his wife, Tara, Jerry Hux, Robin Isles and her husband, David, Marvin Shearin, Jr and his wife, Audrey, Donna Cook and her husband, Barry, Paula Elias and her husband, Artie, Sharon Royster, Ben Lee and his wife, Candace, Jeff Freuler and his wife, Gina, Kelly Freuler, Julia Vann, and her husband, Randy and Thomas Keeter; twenty-one great-grandchildren, Michael Cullom, Luke and Lizzie Keeter, Jordon, Sammy and Mathew Isles, Megan and Holden Shearin, Tyhler, Maggie and Logan Cook, McKenzie and Madison Elias, Seth and Lauren Royster, Addison and Austin Lee, Anna Freuler, Sierra Smith, Hailey and Eli Vann; many nieces and nephews, and one special nephew, David Keeter and his wife, Peggy, of Rocky Mount, NC.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Antioch Baptist Church in Heathsville, N.C. with the Rev. Susan Joyce and the Rev.Winfred Porter officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids. 470, Mary Ruth Green Keeter
