Mrs. Elaine Graves Mann
BURLINGTON—Mrs.Elaine Graves Mann, 78, of 3464 Beaver Creek Road, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Mann was a native of Burlington. She was the daughter of Ura Denton Graves and Flossie Shoffner Graves, both deceased.
Elaine was a graduate of E.M. Holt School and Burlington Business College. She was a lifelong member of Low’s Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and was involved in organ, piano and handbell music worship. Elaine was an accomplished baker and cook. She will be most remembered for her beautiful blue eyes, vivacious personality and enduring love for family.
She is survived by her husband, David P. Mann; and children, Dennis Mann and Melody Mann-Simpson; daughter-in-law, Tyra Mann; son-in-law, A. Boyd Simpson; and brothers, Earl Graves and Fred Graves.
She was predeceased by siblings, Elmer Graves, Alton Graves, Marvin Graves, Ione Graves Nuckols, Rosa Lee Graves Cole and U.D. Graves Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at Low’s Lutheran Church. Pastor David Mielke will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rich and Thompson Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Burlington, and at other times they will be at the residence.
