GRAHAM — Mrs. Carlie Satterfield Whitaker, 67, of 1019 Pineland Drive, Graham died at the Hospice Home on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 2:08 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of W. Stephen “Steve” Whitaker, who survives and the daughter of Tom D. Satterfield and Mary Webster Satterfield, both deceased. She was a retired manager of Global Travel, Vice-President of Triangle Travel and a former employee of Eastern Airlines. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Graham and a former member of the Burlington Kiwanis Club. She was also a member of the Burlington Alamance Bridge Club and an avid Bridge player. Carlie was past president of the Burlington Altrusa Club.
In addition to her husband of the home, survivors include a brother, Tommy Satterfield and wife June of Graham; three cats, Cisco, Dudley and Icky; a nephew, Cameron Satterfield; a niece, Alicia Stokes; a great niece and great nephew, Maisey and Ryan; and many friends.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson
Chapel in Graham on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 11 a.m. by Pastor Kevin Baker. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.
