MEBANE — Mary Eunice Kernodle Ward, 81, died April 27, 2012, at her residence.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Brown and husband Ray, of the home, and Perdita Couch and husband Robert of N.C.; sisters, Louise Mansfield of Burlington, and Sally Barbee of Mebane, Mildred Gwynn and husband Johnny of Gibsonville and Almeria Gammon and husband Pete of Mebane; brothers, Richard Kernodle and wife Betty of Burlington, Robert Kernodle of Greenwood, Ind., and Junie Kernodle and wife Suni of Georgia; grandchildren, Carlton Ward and wife Karen, Daniel Crouse and wife Carla, Brian Crouse and wife Tori, Brad Crouse and wife Ashley, Misty Boggs, Keith Faucette, NikkiWard and Steven Denton; and 17 greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Bruce Kernodle and Ruthie Myrtle Westbrooks Kernodle; husband, James Ward Sr.; son, James Ward Jr.; granddaughter, Crystal Crouse; sister, Polly Ann Robinson; and brother, Howard Kernodle.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at McClure Chapel in Mebane, with Chaplain Rob Womack officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Adar Baptist Church cemetery.
The visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2012, at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane.
