MEBANE- Elmer Walter 'Pete' Gammon, 78, a US Navy Veteran of Mebane passed away unexpectedly on March 22, 2021 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Elmer Walter "Pete" Gammon, 78 of Mebane passed away unexpectedly on March 22, 2021 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Pete was born in Alamance County on October 16, 1942 the son of the late Oscar William Gammon, Sr. and Edith Dora Shockley Gammon. He was a US Navy Veteran and was the owner and operator of Gammon Meat Processing in Mebane.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Ann Shivley and two brothers, Bill Gammon and Phil Gammon.
Surviving is his wife of 34 years, Almeria Kernodle Gammon; children, Jeff Gammon (Kim), Price Gammon (Tracy), Melinda Ingold (Steve), Ronnie Gammon, Steve Nedohin (Rhonda), Linda Pinyatello (Robert), Angela Kunselman (Tom) and Johnny Mitchell, Jr. (Amanda); seventeen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and many other family members and great friends.
