Dwight Milton Huffine, Jr., age 59, of 3838 Gilliam Church Rd., passed away at 12:40 PM on Monday August 20, 2007.
A native of Alamance County, he was husband of Stroud Noah Huffine and son of Virginia Walker Huffine and the late Dwight Milton Huffine, Sr. He was a retired tobacco farmer and was formerly employed with Farm Credit Service from 1969 – 1981. He was a former member of the Alamance County Planning Board, a member of the A-O Civitan Club, Western Alamance Farmers Club, a Democratic Party Precinct Chairman and was a avid hunter and outdoorsman. Mr. Huffine attended Elon College and N. C. State University where he was President of the Agricultural Institute Club.
Survivors include his wife Stroud Noah Huffine of the home; sons, Charles Dwight “Chad” Huffine and wife Robin of Haw River and Gregg Alvin Huffine and wife Shannon of Gibsonville; mother, Virginia Walker Huffine of Elon; 3 grandchildren, Holly, Holden and Noah Huffine. He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday August 23, 2007 at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dave Gilbert. Interment will follow in Gilliam’s Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Huffine will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 PM Wednesday and at other times at the residence.
Donations may be made to Duke Intensive Care Nursery Memorial Fund at any Mid Carolina Bank.
