William Ira Huey
William Ira “Bill” Huey, of Graham, died at his residence on Tuesday, November 12, 2019.
A native of Douglas, GA, he was the son of the late Joe C. Huey and Athelyn Jernigan Huey and husband of the late Evelyn Shea Huey.
Survivors include two children, Kim Huey Mosher of Mebane and Jason Huey and wife Nikki of Graham; three step-children, Billy Compton and wife Kelly of Graham, Cara Rusmisell of Charlotte and Kelly Cook and husband Jason of Graham; two sisters, Cheryl Vickers and husband Claude of Newnan, GA and Elaine Neal of Whitsett, NC; and grandchildren, Kaitlin Mosher, Savannah Mosher, Justin Mosher, Ashleigh Huey, Emma Huey, Logan Compton, Olivia Henry, Ryan Henry, Quinn Rusmisell, Lauren Cook, Gabe Rusmisell, Lindsey Cook, Lilly Compton, Jake Compton and Ethan Michaels. He was preceded in death by one brother, Marshall Oliver Huey.
Mr. Huey was owner of Huey Real Estate where he was Broker in charge, a Certified General Appraiser and Realtor. He was Treasurer of the American Society of Appraisers for North Carolina for 13 years and served as President and also a member of the Alamance-Burlington Association of Realtors and National Association of Realtors. Mr. Huey was a graduate of East Carolina University and former teacher with Alamance County Schools.
Other positions that he served were President, Vice-President and Treasurer for five years of the Graham Jaycees; Board of Trustees member for the Burlington Moose Lodge; Treasurer of the Burlington Elk Lodge for five years; and former President and 15-year member of the Graham Housing Authority. Mr. Huey was a member of Graham Presbyterian Church, the Alamance Wildlife Club and Graham Rotary Club.
The service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. by Dr. Steve Braswell with the family receiving friends from 9:45 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

GRAHAM — Mrs. Evelyn Shea Huey, 66, of 1519 Wedgewood Drive, Graham died at her residence on Sunday, August 5, 2012.
A native of Portsmouth, Va., she was the wife of William I. “Bill” Huey, who survives and the daughter of Vincent Shea andVivian King Shea, both deceased. She was a homemaker and attended Graham Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her husband of the home, survivors include three daughters, Cara Rusmisell of Charlotte, Kelly Cook and husband Jason of Graham and Kim Huey Mosher of Mebane; two sons, Billy Compton and wife Kelly of Graham and Jason Huey of Burlington; a sister, Joanne Gough of Portsmouth,Va.; two brothers, Vincent Shea Jr. of Franklin, Va. and Butch Shea of Portsmouth, Va.; and 14 grandchildren, Kaitlin Mosher, Logan Compton, Olivia Henry, Savannah Mosher, Ryan Henry, Quinn Rusmisell, Ashleigh Huey, Justin Mosher, Lauren Cook, Emma Huey, Gabe Rusmisell, Lindsey Cook, Lilly Compton and Jake Compton.
The funeral service will be conducted
at Graham Presbyterian Church on Wednesday,
August 8, 2012 at 2 p.m. by Dr. Steve Braswell with the family receiving friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the church parlor prior to the service. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, c/o N. C. Diabetes Association, 2418 Blue Ridge Road, Suite 206, Raleigh, NC 27607-6480.
