Mrs. Joy Bell Johnson Roney, 93, formerly of Burlington, died Friday, 22, 2016 at Twin Lakes Healthcare in Burlington.
A native of Chatham County, she was the wife of the late Mack Roney and the daughter of the late Rufus Johnson and the late Rosa Crutchfield Johnson.
Mrs. Roney retired from Graham Chevrolet as a bookkeeper and is a member of Phillips Chapel United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Roney is survived by her daughter-in-law, Laura Roney of Burlington› four grandchildren, Amanda and Maleigha Michael, Connie Woody and husband, Ken, and Michael Beckom and wife, Tracey› three greatgrandchildren, Camdyn Snyder, Katey Beckon and Kolbe Woody and a sisterin-law Nancy Shebester.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Roney was preceded in death by her son, Gene Roney› a granddaughter, Denise Michael› a grandson, Keith Roney› six sisters and one brother.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 27, 2016, from 1:00 until 2:00 pm, at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham, prior to the service.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm in the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Tracey Clayton Sexton. Burial will be in the Phillips Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
