BURLINGTON — Mrs. Mary Graham Boone Loy, 89, formerly of Burch Bridge Road, Burlington, died at White Oak Manor on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at 3:45 a.m. after several years of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Harvey Lee Loy and daughter of Mack Boone and Lou Dean Westmoreland Boone, both deceased.
She was a retired textile worker at Sellars Hosiery and played the piano at many area churches. Mary was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and attended Zion Christian Church, where she was a former pianist. She was an avid animal lover.
Survivors include a sister, Jane McGavran and husband Tad, of Carmen, Idaho; a sister-in-law, Vera Boone, of Burlington; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Phillip Boone.
The funeral service will be conducted in the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at 2 p.m. by the Revs. George M. Phillips Jr. and Powell Sykes, with the family receiving friends from 1 to 2 p.m. before the service. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
