Eileen Vaughn Lowe

Eileen Vaughn Lowe, age 90, of Burlington, passed away Thursday May 30, 2019.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday June 3, 2019 at Bethel Presbyterian Church. Interment will immediately follow the service at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 12:30 – 1:30 PM Monday June 3rd at the church.

Eileen Lowe was born August 6, 1928 in Summerfield to the late Julius and Mabel Vaughn.

She spent most of her life living in McLeansville, and the last few years living at Twin Lakes Retirement Community. Mrs. Lowe was a longtime faithful member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. She taught Sunday school, worked with the children’s ministry, was a youth leader, and was a member of the women of the church. She was also a Scout leader, worked for Guilford County Schools, and volunteered at the election polls. Eileen believed in being active and eating healthy, she lettered in basketball in high school, and enjoyed golf, water aerobics, and walking in her later years. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers, and traveling.

Mrs. Lowe is survived by her sons Gregg Lowe and Trenten Lowe (Cindy), daughter Joyce Lowe Summers (Tommy), grandchildren Rev. Justin Lowe (Melissa), Laura Black, Caitlin Herrington (Matt), and Jesse Summers (Taylor), and great grandchildren Andrew Lowe, Mayson Black, and Esther Lowe.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Hunter Lowe Jr., brothers Ralph Vaughn and Wallace Vaughn, sister Nadine White, and great grandchild Joshua Lowe.
