MEBANE — Mrs. Mary Lou McPherson Ingle, 89, passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at the Hospice Home after several years of declining health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Roy McPherson and the late Effie Vincent McPherson and was married to the late Wade Hampton “John” Ingle, who passed in 2012.
Mary Lou graduated from Alexander Wilson High School and Burlington Business College. She worked for various hosiery mills before being employed and retiring with the Alamance County School System. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Mebane.
Mrs. Ingle is survived by three nieces, Myra Ann Loftis and husband Richard, Donna Stanton and husband Dave, and Kathy May; and a nephew, Joseph McPherson and wife Aileen.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brothers, Thomas, Elmer, Arthur and Flemming McPherson.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Norman Harris. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
