Annie Dare Minor Thompson
BURLINGTON — Annie Dare Minor Thompson, 93, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Nov. 18, 2012 after several months of failing health at the Hospice Home.
A native of Caswell County, she was the wife of the late Albert Hugh Thompson and the daughter of Julius Harrison Minor and Alberta Jane Terrell Minor, both deceased.
Survivors include daughters, Judy Averitte and husband Robert of Greensboro and Debbie Horton and husband Jim of Burlington; and two granddaughters, Carri Seeke and Lauren Paynter.
She was a member of City Lake Baptist Church for more than 50 years and was active in the church ministries as a Sunday School Teacher for 25 years, church pianist, former deacon, and participated in the church choir.
Annie Dare was predeceased by four brothers, Robert, Otis, Avery, and Arthur; and three sisters Bessie Mae Johnson, Myrtle Blackwell, and Maude Gillespie.
She worked in the textile industry for many years; but first and foremost, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
The funeral service is to be held at City Lake Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Wednesday,
Nov. 21, 2012 with the Rev. Curtis Oakley officiating. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. and at other times at the home of Debbie Horton, 3426 Garden Road, Burlington.
