Obituary Online notes for Luther Wayne ALLEN
9/19/2023

Burlington - Luther Wayne Allen, 75, of Burlington, NC was called to his heavenly home on Monday, September 11, 2023.

He was the husband of the late Karla Wright Allen and the son of the late Luther Zeno Allen and father of the late Dedee Allen Foust. He served in the United States #P4 Army with a tour of duty in Vietnam in 1968. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Haw River, NC. Luther and Karla had a love for Christian music and their church family and they were the founding members of the Burlington Christian Radio Station.

Some called him Luther, some called him Wayne and those best friends of his called him Luke. He had a great love for fishing and spending time on his boat with family and friends. He always looked forward to his Sunday afternoons gathering with his buddies, cooking up a big meal and watching the race. His camaraderie with his friends at the American Legion Hut Post 427 were dear memories for him. He also had a fun hobby as a magician, "Luke the magnificent", where often he would entertain family and strangers. His contagious laugh when he saw reactions was the best of all. He had a long standing career as a plumbing contractor. Luther Wayne and his father Luther Zeno Allen were the founders of the Plumbing & Heating Contractors Association of Alamance County, North Carolina.

He leaves behind a loving 96 year young mother, Marion Loring Allen of Haw River; a sister, Annette Allen Whitesell and husband Tommy; a granddaughter Mckenzie Karla Foust, daughter of the late Dedee and fiance Justin Stewart; a son Joseph Wayne Allen and wife Crystal and grandson Zach Allen.

All other condolences or cards may be sent to 218 Trollingwood Road, Haw River, NC 27258.

A memorial brick in his honor will be placed at the American Legion Post 427 and a celebration of life for family and friends will be held at that time and announced when scheduled.

We want to give a heart of gratitude for the excellent care he received at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Hospital and the support from the Veterans Health Care System.
