BURLINGTON — Mrs. Blanche Garrison Simmons, 92, a resident of The Home Place of Burlington and formerly of 12971 NC 62 South, died Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
A native of Caswell County, Mrs. Simmons was the wife of the late Dr. Leonard Hassell Simmons and the daughter of the late Edgar “Ed” Garrison and the late Mary “Mamie” Allred Garrison.
Mrs. Simmons was a member of Bethel Christian Church in Caswell County.
Mrs. Simmons is survived by her daughter, Martha Jane “M.J.” Simmons, of Charlotte; two grandsons, John Simmons Bulmer and Thomas Simmons Bulmer; three nieces, Mary Ann Southard, Linda Miles and Brenda Moore; and one nephew, Randy Garrison.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Rosa Stadler, Esther Massey and Polly Garrison; and brothers, Aubrey and Willard Garrison.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 11, at 1 p.m.at Concord Christian
Church in Caswell County. Officiating will be the Rev. Barry Lane. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from noon until 1 p.m., prior to the service. Immediately following the committal service the family will proceed to the community hall next to the church for fellowship.
