Mr. Bobby Eugene May, 71, died on Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital, after several years of declining health.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park.
Mr. May was born in Guilford County to the late Eugene Roy May and Ethel Jarrett May. Bobby was retired from AT&T (formerly Western Electric Co.) with 38 years of service. He also retired from the North Carolina National Guard with the rank of master sergeant, having served for 27 years. Bobby also worked with Direct Transport, a division of Green Ford. He was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church and served 47 years as adult Sunday school secretary, usher chairman and deacon for many years.
Bobby was preceded in death by one sister, Billie May Reece.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Ann Stone May, of the home; sisters, Barbara May Tew and husband Jimmy and Brenda May Stevens, all of Greensboro; numerous nieces, nephews and numerous treasured friends.
