STOKESDALE – James Samuel May, 55, of Hanes Road, Route 1, Summerfield, died Wednesday at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
Funeral will be 4 p.m. Friday at Lebanon Baptist Church on Hicone Road, of which he was a member.
Employed at Western Auto in Greensboro, May had lived in the Liberty Church community for eight years and was a Marine veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are wife, Mrs. Martha Newsom May; daughter, Mrs. Debra Lynn Penland of Lakeland, Fla.; sons, James Stephen May of Reidsville, Gary Lee May and Junior Wilson of Greensboro; sisters, Mrs. Irene Carter of Madison, Mrs. Shirley Shelton of Greensboro, Mrs. Barbara Ann Bowden of Kernersville; brothers, Edward E. May of Yanceyville, Jesse L. May and Wayne May of Reidsville; seven grandchildren.
The family will be at Brooke Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. today, other times at the residence.
