Leonard Jones Coleman

 
 BURLINGTON — Mr. Leonard Jones Coleman, 82, of 1233 Jeffries Cross Roads, died at his residence on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, at 7:06 a.m.
 
 A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Opal Thacker-Coleman and the son of Percy Leonard Coleman and Julia Elizabeth Apple Coleman, both deceased. He was a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School. Leonard was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a tobacco farmer. He restored a 100-year-old barn which became The Coleman Barn Venue used for special events. It has been recognized by the N.C. Century Farm.
 
 Survivors include twin daughters, Lisa Coleman Crews and husband Kenneth of Kernersville and Terri Coleman; two grandchildren, Cole Crews and Jennifer Crews; brother, Joe Coleman and wife Susie of Burlington; sisters, Sally Coleman Cook and husband Raymond of Semora, Sylvia Coleman Harrison of High Point, Donna Coleman Little of Burlington and Kate Coleman Brummer and Gary Taylor of Burlington; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Peggy Gilmore; long-time friends, Carl DeBruler, Billy Corbett and “Cash” Wesley King.
 
 He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jonathan Crews.
 
 The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Dan Ficklin and the Rev. James L. Rosser with the family receiving friends from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at McCray Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
 
 At other times they will be at the residence.
