---Donald Jack Vandeventer, age 95, of Macon, MO, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at the Macon Health Care Center.
---Donald was born on April 8, 1927, in Moweaqua, IL, the son of Hiram and Toots (May) Vandeventer. Donald was united in marriage to Rosemary Ellen Julius on June 1, 1948. He served in the United States Army during WWII and Korea, he was assigned to 181st Signal Corp 8th Army Command and later joined 205th Signal Corp in 1953. Donald worked for Norfolk & Southern Railroad for 18 years as an engineer. He enjoyed reading, photography, electronics and learning new things. Donald was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
---Donald is survived by one daughter, April Throgmorton of Excello, MO; three granddaughters, Amber Vandeventer, Michelle Howard, and Cassandra Clinton; numerous great-grandchildren; and extended family members.
---He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife on February 2001, one son, one brother, one sister, and an infant brother.
---Graveside memorial services, with full military honors, will be 10:00 am, Monday, June 13, 2022 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon, MO. Memorials may be made to the family; April Throgmorton (PO Box 25, Excello MO 65247).
