In addition to being married to John Clayton Burgess, Mary Magnolia "Nola" McHargue was also married to a man by the name of Frank May at the end of her life.

According to her death certificate she died in a county home for the poor and is buried in an unmarked grave in Holt's Chapel. She lost all contact with her family and they did not know the date or place of her death.
