DENVER CITY (Special) Services for Henry Stratford May Sr., 80, of Denver City will be 4 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Darren Skinner officiating.

Burial will be in Denver City Memorial Park under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home.

He died Monday, April 3, 2000. He was born Jan. 29, 1920, in Alamance County, N.C. He married Doris Richardson in May 1946. She died in 1991, and a son, Daniel Richardson May, also died in 1991.

He attended the University of North Carolina, was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran and a retired farmer and former owner of the Broadway Inn. He was a former president of the Denver City Rotary Club and a director for the Yoakum County Water Conservation District.

Survivors include a son, Henry Stratford May Jr. of Houston; a daughter, Jane May Rivera of Guymon, Okla.; a brother, William Stratford May of Port Orange, Fla., and five grandchildren.

Memorial may be made to the First Baptist Church. 470, Henry Stratford May, Sr
