E. Carson Lloyd, 89, of Mebane passed away at his home on Thursday, January 27, 2022 following two months of declining health.
A native of Orange County, he was the loving husband of Georgie May Lloyd, who survives and the son of Walter Clayton Lloyd and Elizabeth Durham Lloyd, both deceased.
Carson was a veteran of the United States Army. He grew up working on the family farm and became co-owner of Lloydtown Farm Inc. in Mebane. He was an active member of Orange Chapel United Methodist Church. Growing up, Carson was part of the Boy Scouts and later served as a leader. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren on the farm.
In addition to his wife of their home, survivors include two sons, Gary R. Lloyd and his husband Anthony M. Lloyd of Raleigh and Randy G. Lloyd and his wife Diane Cook of Mebane; two grandchildren, Rodney B. Lloyd and his wife Laurie and Brandon R. Lloyd and his wife Misty, all of Mebane; six great-grandchildren, Melanie, Lawson, Jamison, Talon, Kolton and Bowen; great-great granddaughter, Ally and one on the way; and two brothers, John Dewey Lloyd and James Clayton Lloyd. He was preceded in death by one brother, William Alvis Lloyd
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends in the sanctuary of the church beginning at 1:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
