Angela Spoon Burgess, 83, lost her battle with cancer on Friday April 14, 2023.
The youngest of four children, Angela the daughter of the late Alfred Banner Spoon Sr. and Hallie Roberson Spoon.
Angela was an avid traveler and downhill snow skier. She was also an active member of several of the masonic orders. She was a fifty-year member in the White Shrine of Jerusalem and served as Worthy High Priestess in Bethany Shine no. 11 in Burlington N.C. and Gate City Shrine no. 2 in Greensboro, N.C. She was also an active member of the order or the Eastern Star for fifty years and served as Worthy Matron in Battle of Alamance Chapter no. 256 in Graham, N.C and Enterprise Chapter no. 363 in Arcadia N.C. She was appointed as the Grand Representative to New Mexico as well as serves as Grand Adah in the Grand Chapter of North Carolina.
Survivors include her daughter Mona Celeste Corbin and husband Robert Craig Corbin; her grandson Hunter James Corbin; a Sister-in-Law Judy Loy Spoon; six nieces and nephews and her “adopted” granddaughter Julia Downing.
A "drop-in" visitation will be held on Tuesday April 18th, 2023 from 2:00pm to 6:00 pm at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home at 10301 North N.C. Hwy 109, Winston-Salem, N.C.
A grave-side service will be conducted by Tracey Woodruff at Pine Hill cemetery on South Main Street (next to the YMCA) in Burlington N.C. on Wednesday April 19th, 2023 at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lexington Chapter No. 98 of the Order of the Eastern Star in c/o Mary Flowe 1213 Rhodes Road, Lexington N.C. 27292.
