Destiny Rochelle Dodson
   ELON — Destiny Rochelle Dodson, 20, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at her home.

   Born in Orange County, she was the daughter of Donald Wayne Dodson of Mebane and the late Teresa Clark Dodson and the goddaughter of her Uncle Greg and Aunt Donna Barnwell of Elon, with whom she resided.

   Destiny was a member of Harvest Baptist Church. She was loved by all who met her, was always positive and simply enjoyed life. She loved texting on her cell phone and playing UNO with her Uncle Greg. Country music became a love of hers from early on. She was a big fan of Hunter Hayes. Destiny will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

   Survivors include her father, Donald Wayne Dodson; brothers, Shane Harris, of Burlington and Jordan Dodson, of Mebane; sister, Wendy Harris and boyfriend Nick Ball, of Graham; godparents (uncle and aunt), Greg and Donna Barnwell, of Elon; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; maternal grandmother, Bobbie Clark; and paternal grandmother, Christine Oakley; and special caregiver, Shirley Arnold.

   She was preceded in death by her mother; maternal grandfather, Donald Clark; paternal grandfather, Reginald L. Dodson; and her cousin, Tabitha McCracken.

   A service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at Harvest Baptist Church by Pastor Larry Lamberth, with the burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.

   The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and at other times at her sister’s home.
