Benjamin “Ben” Franklin Bristow
   BURLINGTON — Mr. Benjamin “Ben” Franklin Bristow, 65, of 1987 Hilton Road, was taken to his heavenly home at 6:15 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, with his family by his side, at the Hospice Home of Burlington after several years of failing health due to Parkinson’s Disease.

   Ben served three years in the U.S. Navy, worked at Textiles Sales Room and Stevenson and Vestal. His keen sense of humor was always a personality trait everyone loved and he enjoyed a good round of golf in his spare time.

   Preceding Ben in death were his parents, Thomas Franklin and Mable Greeson Bristow; and brothers, Harry Bristow and Billy Joe Bristow.

   He is survived a sister, Mary Thacker of Seffner, Fla.; brothers, Thomas “Tom” Bristow and wife Susan of Graham, Bob Bristow and wife Shirley of Burlington and Bunny Bristow and wife Faye of Elon; sister-inlaw, Kay Bristow of Burlington. Twelve nieces and nephews as well as 24 great nieces and nephews all had a special love for Ben as he did for them.

   The body will remain at the Mc-Clure Funeral Home in Graham. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, in Graham Memorial Park with the Rev. Howard Thompson offi ciating.

   The family requests memorial donations be made in Ben’s memory to the Hospice Home of Burlington, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215

   A special thank you is given from the family to the Alamance Health Care nurses and CNAs as well to all the staff at the Hospice Home for the love and compassion shown to Ben.
