Julia Miles Apple
YANCEYVILLE, N.C. — Julia Miles Apple, 85, passed away Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at the Hospice Home.
She was the wife of the late Lonnie Harris Apple and was born Sept. 3, 1928, in Caswell County to the late William Boyd and Nannie Rascoe Miles.
A graduate of Anderson High School, she was a textile worker most of her working career and a devoted member of Baynes Baptist Church. Julia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and had a servant’s heart.
She was most proud of her mission trips to Costa Rica, where she taught the young children. She also volunteered with the Red Cross Blood Mobile. She loved to sing and was a member of the Senior Clef Choir of Yanceyville and also enjoyed traveling with members of the Senior Center of Yanceyville.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Catherine Foster of Burlington and Sandra Anne Aldridge (George) of Reidsville; son, Richard Lee Apple (Tammy) of Elon; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Edna Allred, Frances Oakes; and a brother Bernard Miles.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Baynes Baptist Church by the Rev. Scott Ingram and the Rev. Larry Mc-Carty. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.
The family would like to thank the staff of Liberty Commons Nursing Center and the Hospice Home for the compassionate care of our mother.
