John Mack “J.M.” Dehart
   GRAHAM — John Mack “J.M.” Dehart, 81, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Hospice Home.

   He was born May 22, 1932 in Rockingham County, NC to the late Leonard Charles “Shin” and Mayzie Solom Rae Dehart. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

   Survivors include his daughters; Tammy (Keith) McDole of Burlington, Kim (Mike) Geary of Elon, Paula Brown of Smyrna, GA, a son Johnny (Debbie) Dehart of Graham, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, sisters; Mary Doss of Archdale, Betty Greenwale of Eden, a brother Charles Dehart of Stuart, VA. and his dog Selma, his faithful companion. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Harold Dehart and Earl Shelor.

   There will be a celebration of his life 3:00 PM Tuesday at New Covenant Fellowship Church, 1913 Rogers Rd., Graham, NC. The family will receive friends 2-3 PM prior to the service, then following the service there will be a small reception.

   The family wishes to thank Shirley Underwood for all of her care in the past few days. In lieu of fl owers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215 or The Humane Society of Alamance County, PO Box 5117, Burlington, NC 27216. Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
