William “Bill” Lafayette Boswell, 87, of Burlington passed away at AuthoraCare Hospice Home on Monday, December 19, 2022 following a brief illness.
A native of Caswell County, he was the husband of the late Lois J. Boswell and the son of Aubrey Boswell and Nancy Hensley Boswell, both deceased. He was a veteran of the
U. S. Army and retired from Western Electric with 41 years of service. Bill was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and UNC Tarheels fan. He was a charter member of Bethel Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for over 40 years and served as a Deacon, Trustee, and on the Pulpit Committee. He loved spending time with his family, and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Survivors include a daughter, Sheila Boswell Laparra and husband Matthew of Burlington; three grandchildren, Kendra Oliveira, Camden Oliveira, and Taylor Laparra; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Willa Jean Webster, Loretta Madren, and Judy Boswell and two brothers, Raymond Boswell and Ronnie Boswell.
The funeral service will be conducted at Bethel Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. by Rev. David Jackson with the family receiving friends from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
