Howard Eugene Greeson
WHITSETT - Howard Eugene Greeson, 69, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Moses Cone Hospital following a brief illness. He was born January 8, 1948 to the late Ernest Norman and Juanita Freeman Greeson and was the husband of 39 years to Nancy Sue Coleman Greeson of the home.
Howard was a longtime member of Mt. Hope Church. He owned and operated Greeson’s Grocery for over 30 years until later running Service Barber Shop in Gibsonville for nearly 14 years. He enjoyed watching baseball, playing the guitar and was an avid NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed playing pool and fishing with his grandson, Austin. He was a devoted family man and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; daughter, Terri Cook and husband Wes; grandsons, Austin Kestner and Wesley Cook, Jr.; sister, Dee Greeson and a brother, Wayne Greeson and wife Mary.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Mt. Hope Church by Rev. Lynne Hinton and Rev. Kristen Gerner Vaughn with the burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:45 pm prior to the service at the church and other times at the home. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Hope Church Building Fund, 2400 Mt. Hope Church Rd, Whitsett, NC 27377
