William Calvin "Billy C." Tate, 77, of 3162 Milesville Rd. passed away Friday October 17, 2008 at Alamance Regional Medical Center following several months of failing health and one week critical. He was the husband of Frances Payne Tate and the son of the late John Allen and Maggie Allred Tate.

Billy was a native of Caswell County, he attended Concord Christian Church and was well known in the farming community as a hay baler expert. He was an avid rabbit hunter, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of the home, daughters; Dora May and her husband Eddie of Elon, Debra Moore of Elon, sons; Wesley Tate and his wife Sandra of Kernersville, Donald Tate of Elon, grandchildren; Michael Tate and his wife Julie, Ashley Tate, Cody May, Chelsea Tate, Amber Laird, Colin Laird, Heath Moore, Josey Moore, Grace Moore, Lydia Moore and a great granddaughter Kaitlyn Tate.

The funeral will be held 3:00 PM Sunday at Concord Christian Church by Rev. Keith Murray. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the Men's Fellowship of Concord Christian Church, care of David Wall, 46 Poplar Bluff, Reidsville, NC 27320.336
