George Cornelius Ingle GIBSONVILLE — George Cornelius Ingle, age 79, of 315 Brightwood Church Road, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at Moses Cone Hospital. He was a native of Guilford County and the husband of 55 years to Emma Lee Laws Ingle, who survives. George was a retired textile employee and a member of Brightwood Christian Church. George was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He enjoyed growing vegetables and being outdoors. George was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Emma Lee Laws Ingle of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda Rivers and her husband, Bobby, of Gibsonville and Judy Carter and her husband, Chris, of Gibsonville; sons and daughters-in-law, Grady Ingle and his wife, Kathe, of Mooresville, George “G.V.” Ingle and his wife, Diana, of Gibsonville; grandchildren and spouses, Scott Rivers and his wife, Debbie, Kevin Rivers and his wife, Jennifer, Michelle Crumpton and her husband, Anthony, Ike Ingle, Kara Ingle and Caroline Ingle; great-grandchildren, Macy, Madison, Nate and Noah Rivers, Cody and Serena Crumpton; brothers, Wade “John” Ingle of Mebane, Grady Robert Ingle of Gibsonville; sisters, Mary Brown of Burlington and Rosa Billings of Gibsonville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady Vance and Eva Lessie Poole Ingle; stepmother, Dewey Walker Ingle; brothers, Keith and Wheeler Ingle; sisters, Vergie Huey and Lillie Foster. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Howard Thompson and the Rev. Bruce Church. Burial will follow at Brightwood Christian Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home, and other times at the residence.
