Naomi Cook Fagg dies at 100

   ASHEBORO — Naomi Jane Fagg, age 100, of 400 Vision Drive of Asheboro died Friday, March 28, 2014 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Ms. Fagg was born February 14, 1914 the daughter of David Thomas “D.T.” Cook and Nettie Lynn Cook.

   Ms. Fagg was born in Gibsonville and raised in Altamahaw. She was a long time member of Central Falls Baptist Church, formerly employed with Randolph Hospital in the dietary Department. She loved to work in her vegetable garden while watching the birds, her favorite Chapter in the Bible was Psalm 91.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Alex Fagg; son, Larry; daughter, Faye; grandsons, Mark and Greg; sisters, Myrtle Cook, Ruth Barber and Orpha Cook; brothers, Jessie, Paul, Silas and Roy “Bill” Cook.

   She is survived by daughters: Mary Jane Haltom and husband Glenn of Denton, Yvonne Ione Martin and husband Will of Asheboro and Deborah Kay West and husband Wayne of Randleman; son, Ray Fagg of Randleman; brother, Charlie Cook of Burlington; 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

   The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM In the chapel with the Rev. Gerald Hussey and Pastor Jonathon Shook offi ciating.

   Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro.

   Memorials may be made to Woodland Hill Rehabilitation Center, 400 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203.
