BURLINGTON — Mrs. Cleone Gerringer Tickle, 90, passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, May 06, 2014, at 11:53 p.m.
Cleone was the daughter of Mr. Robert Lee Gerringer and Mrs. Sarah Annie Jones Gerringer, both deceased, and the wife of the late Kenneth Jack Tickle Sr.
Cleone leaves behind a daughter: Katrina Chappell (Steve) of Burlington; son, Kenneth Jack Tickle Jr. (Irene) of Tucson Ariz.; nine grandchildren; 23 great – grandchildren; one greatgreat-grandchild; and a sister, Doris Gerringer Shue of Graham.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Gerringer Jr., Basil Gerringer and Dwight Gerringer; and sisters, Irene G. Garrison and Peggie G. Robertson.
A memorial service will be held in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014, with the Rev. Bob Cauthren officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or to Hopedale Christian Church, 909 Deep Creek Church Road, Burlington, NC 27217.
