GIBSONVILLE — Dale Elbert Billings, 84, of 336 Brightwood Church Rd. died on Saturday, March 31, 2007, at his home after six months of declining health. He was born in Baywood, VA, son of the late Frank Floyd and Lydia Nora Billings, and was married to Rosa Lee Ingle Billings, who survives.
Mr. Billings was a homebuilder, carpenter and a charter member of Brightwood Christian Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in Germany and was a member of the VFW in Gibsonville.
He is survived by his wife of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Carole Billings of Graham; daughters and son-in-law, Sharon and John Bohlen of McLeansville and Anna Windsor of Gibsonville; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. Roscoe and Lena Billings of Graham.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters and 4 brothers.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at Brightwood Christian Church by Rev. the Don Lyerly with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
