Ruby Matkins Kernodle
ELON — Mrs. Ruby Matkins Kernodle, 90, of 2964 Claude Simpson Road, died at the Hospice Home on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at 9:05 p.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Jack Clifton Kernodle and the daughter of James Dennis Matkins and Nellie Martin Matkins, both deceased.
Survivors include brother, Clyde Curtis Matkins; sister, Stella Matkins Smith; two sons, Harold Dean Kernodle and his son Matthew Dean Kernodle and Randy Clifton Kernodle and wife Debbie, all of Elon; stepgrandchildren, Amanda James Basham and husband Keith and Samantha James Matkins and husband Thad; and great-stepgrandchildren, Annabelle Elaine Matkins, Camden Bailey Matkins and Kayleigh Elizabeth Basham.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Alma Matkins.
A private memorial service will be held.
