Daughter of Henry and Lisa Smith Lane, wife of Victor Ammons.
MARION - Mrs. Henrietta L. Ammons, 82, widow of the late Victor Ammons, died Tuesday morning in a Marion hospital after a long illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Richardson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the family cemetery in Penderboro community.
Mrs. Ammons was born in Marion County, a daughter of the late Henry and Lisa Smith Lane. She was a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church and the Minnie Simmons Sunday School class.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Roy Baxley of Gresham, Mrs. Jim Gerringer of Gibsonville, N.C., Mrs. Elbert Smith and Mrs. George Dikes, both of Savannah, Ga.; four sons, J. T. Ammons of Marion, B. J. Ammons of Mebane, N. C., Elmer Ammons of Carteret, N. C., and Albert Ammons of Gibsonville, N. C.; a half sister, Mrs. Elmerson Herring of Mt. Holly, N. C.; two half-brothers, Clifton Herring of Gastonia, N. C. and Miles Herring of Mullins; 23 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.
