October 11, 1920 - February 10, 2014
Greensboro- Mrs. Edith Brumfield Somers, 93, peacefully transitioned her earthly life to join her Heavenly Father Monday, February 10, 2014 at Hospice Home of Alamance Caswell County.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel with Rev. Luther Brame officiating. Interment will follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday night at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel from 6-8:00 p.m.
Mrs. Somers was born October 11, 1920 in Lynchburg, VA to the late Alfred and Zena Kennon Brumfield. She worked as a school guard for many years and with the Girl Scouts. She was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Somers. Mrs. Somers is survived by her children, Edith Neal of Whitsett, William Somers and wife Betty of Randleman and Robert Somers; four grandchildren, Dawn Garner, Tammy Lota, Neil Somers and Lisa Somers; and great grandchildren, Ashley Garner and Kacey Somers.
Special thanks to the caregivers and staff of Hospice Home of Alamance- Caswell for their kindness and support to Mrs. Somers and the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road Burlington, NC 27215.
