Catherine Setzer Baker
BURLINGTON — Catherine Setzer Baker, 91, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Twin Lakes Nursing Center after a couple months of failing health.
She was the wife of the late Garland Eugene Baker and was born June 30, 1923, in Iredell County, to the late Julius Milton and Maudie Crisco Setzer.
Catherine was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and a former choir member. She and her sister, Nora Mae, were the appointed greeters by being the “Kissing Committee”. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughters, Kim B. (Tommy) Horner of Elon and Kathy W. Richardson of Gibsonville; grandchildren, John J. Richardson, Lonnie (Margie) Richardson, Kelly Vines, Morgan (Scott) Ingalls, Brittany Horner and Brooke Horner; great-grandchildren, Logan Vines, Kendall Vines, Cooper Richardson, Grey Richardson, Olive Ingalls, Greir Ingalls and Kinsley Butler. She is also survived by a sister, Jean Lattimore, of Spartanburg, S.C.; and her special friend, Paul Stout, of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Nora Mae Harvey, Mozelle Whitten and Mildred Belanjia; and brothers, Lonnie Setzer, Fred Setzer and Archie Setzer.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2014, at New Hope Baptist Church by the Rev. Randy Hobbs. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. and at other times at Kim’s home, 814 Elon-Ossipee Road, Elon.
