Pauline Key Brown
BURLINGTON - Pauline Key Brown, 99, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 14, 2017.
She was a native of Surry County and the wife of 67 years to the late Rupert Raymon Brown.
Pauline was a homemaker and longtime member of Apple’s Chapel Christian Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her daughter, Debbie B. Poteat and husband, Phillip of Burlington and a daughterin-law, Wanda S. Brown of Gibsonville; grandchildren, Skyler (Teisha) Poteat of Utah, Charlene (John) Christie and Paula (Tom) Woods of California, Terry (Julia) Brown of Maine, Rhonda Brown (Jim) of Greensboro, Teresa (Nick) Dowd of Texas, Jeffrey Brown and Mitch Brown both of Gibsonville; 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Gilmer Talmage and Lula Mae Brendle Key; son, Bobby Lee Brown and a daughter, Bonnie L. Brown Milam; sisters, Clara K. Goodman Tate and Ruby Key Comer; brothers, P. James Key, Howard Key, Harvery Key and Talmage Key.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice for their kind and compassionate care for Pauline during her illness.
A service to celebrate her life will be held 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church by Pastor Dave Johnson and assisted by Rev. C. Allen Myers, III.
The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:45 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church and other times the family will be at the home of her daughter.
