BURLINGTON - Betty Ballard Smith, 79 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 2, 2020.
A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 11:00 am at Gibsonville City Cemetery by Rev. Mike Jones. Betty Ballard Smith
March 28, 1941 ~ September 2, 2020 (age 79)
Burlington-Betty Ballard Smith, 79, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at ARMC. She was born in Alamance County to the late Lewis Clyde Ballard, Sr. and Lilie Mae Hutchens Ballard. She was the wife of the late Ronald David Smith, Sr.
Betty retired from Jefferson-Smurfit Company. She was a member of Pilgrim Chapel Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class. Betty served in the nursery, as a children’s Sunday School teacher and on the hospitality committee. She enjoyed cooking and being a caregiver to those in need. Betty shared her faith through her many acts of service and was devoted to her family.
Survivors include her sons, David Smith and wife, Johanna of Burlington, John Smith and wife, Devin of Burlington and Brent Smith and wife, Missy of Graham; grandchildren, Justin (Gina) Smith, Spencer Smith, Morgan Smith, Laura (Aaron) Evans, Alex (Erin) Smith, Mallory Smith, Brianna Smith and Makayla Smith; great grandchildren, Lily Evans, Asher Evans, Jessica Smith, Chase Smith, McKenzie Smith, Madeline Smith and Melina Smith; brothers, Lewis Ballard, Jr. and wife, Deborah of Carolina Shores, NC, Gene Ballard of Orange Park, FL and Ronnie Ballard and wife, Nancy of Burlington and her canine companion “Muffin”. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters and four brothers.
A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Gibsonville Cemetery by Rev. Mike Jones. Betty will be available for viewing from 1-5pm on Friday at the funeral home.
