Margaret Elizabeth Brumble Lee
   Margaret Elizabeth Brumble Lee, 81, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015. She passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James Durward Lee, and was the daughter of the late Winfield H. and Bessie T. Brumble of Dillon, S.C.

   Margaret left South Carolina in the 50’s to live in Burlington, N.C. and married Durward on May 16, 1958. Upon her retirement from Western Electric and SCI, she and Durward made their home in Wilmington, N.C.

   She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Lee of Virginia Beach, Va., Susan (Howard) Ramsey of Wilmington and Carol Lee of Kure Beach, N.C.; brothers, Winfield (Windy) Brumble Jr. of Burlington, Douglas Brumble of Hamer, S.C., Horace Brumble of Marion, S.C.; sister, Doris Chatman of Greenville, S.C.; grandchildren, Joseph Platter, Christopher Platter, Jordan Boykin, Megan (Will) Slaugenhoup and Molly Smith; great-grandchildren, Michael, Sammy, Lilly and James, as well as numous nieces and nephews.

   The family would like to express a special heartfelt thanks to her live-in caregivers , Susan Miles and Abiemwense Osagie (Sister Purple), who brought Jesus’ love and unconditional acceptance

   into her home and also reminded us that family has little to do with blood and everything to do with love.

   Margaret will be remembered for her wonderful laugh, her love for her family and close friends and her fondness for chocolate.

   As per her wishes, a graveside service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Hills of The Neuse Cemetery in Smithfield, N.C. at 2 in the afternoon.

   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation of Wilmington or The Alzheimer’s Research Foundation.

   Many thanks to those who loved her, who cared for her, who prayed for her and who never forgot her.
