Obituary Online notes for “Bud” William H. CONKLIN Jr.
W. H. "Bud" Conklin, Jr. 3906 Union Ridge Rd. went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the Hospice Home. Mr. Conklin was born December 25, 1932 in Alamance County to the late William H. Conklin and Faye Brown Conklin. He was the former owner and operator of Carolina Marble Manufacturing, Inc. and later went to work as a locksmith for Elon University where he retired. Mr. Conklin was a medic in the Airforce during the Korean War and was a member of Lakeview Community Church.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years to Mrs. Inez Smith Conklin of the home; a son, Mitch Conklin and his wife Kim of Burlington; a daughter, Kelli Simpson of Burlington; a granddaughter, Matti Dale Simpson; two sisters, Evelyn Phillips of Greensboro and Ruth Cole of Burlington; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Tommy Privette and Pastor Keith Jones. Interment will follow at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times the family will be at the home.
