Robert Warren Wade (1920-2006)

Leasburg, NC - Robert Warren Wade, 86, of 338 Roxboro Lake Road, Leasburg, NC died Saturday, September 9, 2006, at Person County Memorial Hospital, Roxboro, NC. Mr. Wade was born May 27, 1920 in Caswell County, North Carolina, the son of Willie E. Wade and Luna Cobb Wade. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Nellie Rudd Wade in March, 2003. He was a member and a deacon of Old Lea Bethel Baptist Church. He was retired from a lifetime of farming. Mr. Wade served in the United States Army in the Pacific area during World War II.

He is survived by one son, Phillip Wade of Leasburg, NC; two sisters, Pauline W. Loy and Melba Jan W. Warren of Burlington, NC; five brothers, Wilbur Wade of Burlington, NC, Franklin Wade of Graham, NC, Hassell Wade of Burlington, NC, Carlton Wade of Milwaukee, WI., and Bobby R. Wade of Port Charlotte, FLA.

The funeral was held at 11:00 am, Tuesday September 12, 2006, at Old Lea Bethel Baptist Church, with Reverend Alan Bottoms officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family received friends Monday, September 11, 2006, from 7:00-8:30 pm at Old Lea Bethel Baptist Church, 6035 Ridgeville Road, Leasburg, NC.
