Betty Ruth Huffman Peyton
Betty Ruth Huffman Peyton, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2015, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
She was born in Iredell County, Nov. 22, 1936, to the late Emmitt and Mary Elizabeth Hayes Huffman.
Betty was of the Baptist faith. She loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with her cats and dogs.
Survivors include her son, Richard Brad Peyton and wife Bridgette of Salisbury; grandson, Kyle Hutchinson of Clearwater, FL; sister, Linda Jones and husband Henry of Burlington; brother, Tommy A. Huffman of North Myrtle Beach, sisters-in-law, Carol Huffman and Maxine Huffman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Robert Huffman and Charles Huffman.
A graveside service, to celebrate her life, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, in Alamance Memorial Park by Pastor Randy Hobbs of New Hope Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at her sister, Linda’s home.
