Odus A. Hamel, 88, Independence, Missouri, passed away Thursday, March 5, 1998, at Cedar County Hospital, El Dorado Springs, Missouri. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 9, at the Eastside Assembly of God, 3923 Pittman Road;
Burial in Floral Hills Cemetery.

Odus A. Hamel, 88, Independence, Missouri, passed away Thursday, March 5, 1998, at Cedar County Hospital, El Dorado Springs, Missouri. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 9.
Mr. Hamel was born September 12, 1909, in Mulberry Grove, Illinois, but had raised his family near Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. He owned and operated his own farm in Walnut Ridge until moving to the Kansas area in 1967. He retired as a general maintenance man from St. Joseph's Hospital after 10 years of service. He was a 30-year member of the Eastside Assembly of God.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Gloria A. Hamel, of the home; two sons, Warren D. Hamel, El Dorado Springs, Missouri, and B.L. ''Shorty'' Hamel, Odessa, Missouri; three daughters, Evelyn Greeson, Burlington, North Carolina, Amelia ''Midge'' Myers, Grain Valley, Missouri, and Jean Abney, Florissant, Missouri; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
